Taxi Lyon to Val d'Isère, coach or private chauffeur?

A taxi from Lyon Saint-Exupéry airport to Val d'Isère runs on the meter and is rarely equipped for the mountain. Shared coach and shuttle transfers leave on a timetable, stop at other resorts and wait for other flights. The train from Lyon reaches Bourg-Saint-Maurice, 30 kilometres below the resort, so a car is needed anyway. A private airport transfer leaves when you land and drops you at the door, which on a Saturday in February makes the difference.

Minibus, van and group ski transfers to Val d'Isère

For a family or a group of friends, the Mercedes V-Class takes seven passengers with skis and luggage; larger groups travel in two or three vehicles leaving together. The same private ski transfer serves the hotels, the chalets and Val d'Isère centre, La Daille, Le Fornet and Le Châtelard.

Frequently asked questions

Lyon to Val d'Isère transfer · FAQ

About three hours from Saint-Exupéry for roughly 220 kilometres on a clear day, longer on in-season Saturdays.

Which route does the chauffeur take?

The A43 to Chambéry and Albertville, the N90 up the Tarentaise to Bourg-Saint-Maurice, then the D902 through the gorges to Val d'Isère.

Can you pick us up at the TGV station?

Yes, at Saint-Exupéry station or Lyon Part-Dieu.

Is Chambéry closer than Lyon?

Yes, by about an hour. If your flight lands in Chambéry, we run that transfer too.

Can you drop us at La Daille or Le Fornet?

Yes, as well as the centre, Le Châtelard and the chalets on the Solaise side.

How much is a private transfer from Lyon Saint-Exupéry airport to Val d'Isère?

The price depends on the car, the date and the number of passengers. It is fixed per vehicle, not per person, with taxes, tolls and waiting time included. Send us your flight and you receive the exact rate in writing before you book.

Do you offer a taxi from Lyon Saint-Exupéry airport to Val d'Isère?

We are a private chauffeur service rather than a taxi rank: the car is booked in advance, the rate is fixed and the chauffeur waits for you whatever the delay. On this route it replaces the taxi and the shared shuttle for most travellers.

Can you take a group with skis from Lyon to Val d'Isère?

Yes. The Mercedes V-Class takes seven passengers with their cases and ski equipment; beyond that we send two or three vehicles together. Tell us the number of passengers and pairs of skis when you ask for the quote.

Can the same transfer continue to Tignes?

Yes. Tignes is fifteen minutes beyond Val d'Isère on the same road, and a party split between the two resorts can share one vehicle with two drop-offs.
