A private chauffeur from Lyon Saint-Exupéry airport, Part-Dieu station or your Lyon hotel to the door of your chalet in Megève. About two hours on French motorways, no Swiss vignette and no border, at a fixed rate agreed before you travel.
On a map Megève is closer to Geneva than to Lyon, 88 kilometres against 170. Plenty of our clients still choose Lyon, and for good reasons. The flight can be more direct or better priced, there is no customs on arrival, and the whole drive stays in France, so there is no Swiss motorway vignette to buy and no queue at the Bardonnex border crossing on a holiday Saturday.
Saint-Exupéry also has its own high-speed rail station, built into the airport. If you arrive from Paris or Marseille by TGV, your chauffeur meets you in exactly the same place as an air passenger, with no detour through central Lyon. Already in the city? We collect you from Part-Dieu, Perrache or your hotel.
Allow about two hours on a clear day. What really decides your arrival time is the last half hour, from Sallanches up to the village, where snow and Saturday changeovers matter far more than the motorway.
Three sections, each with its own logic. Your chauffeur knows where time can be made up and where it is better not to try.
Out of the airport heading east on the motorway. The fast part of the journey, where the first hour goes by without you noticing.
The motorway that climbs the Arve valley towards Mont Blanc as far as the Sallanches exit. On big changeover days this is where the traffic thickens.
About a dozen kilometres of mountain road from Sallanches to the village, through Combloux and Demi-Quartier. Nothing technical in the dry, but this is where winter equipment earns its keep.
Send the flight or TGV number, passengers, skis and luggage. We confirm the car and the rate in writing.
Your chauffeur follows the arrival in real time. A delay simply moves the meeting time, with no waiting charge.
A name board in the arrivals hall or on the platform, and a hand with cases and ski bags.
Dropped at the exact address, including the hamlet roads that the shuttles do not serve.
Megève was not built for skiing. It is a Savoyard village that took up skiing, and you can tell from its streets. The centre around the church is pedestrian, chalets climb narrow roads towards Mont d'Arbois, Rochebrune and Le Jaillet, and the address you give matters more than the name of the village. You are dropped at your door, not at the nearest car park.
From November to the end of March, Haute-Savoie applies the French mountain law. In the communes listed by the prefecture, a car must run four winter tyres marked 3PMSF or carry chains in the boot, with a 135 euro fine and possible immobilisation for those who do not. Our cars are equipped for the whole season, so the question never comes up at the foot of the climb.
For the return, we set the departure time around your flight and the day of the week. On a February Saturday the Arve valley fills up from mid-morning, and leaving an hour earlier costs far less than a missed flight.
For one or two travellers with sensible luggage. Comfortable on the motorway and at ease on the Combloux road.
When the drive is also time to work or to rest. Over two hours, it is the car nobody regrets choosing.
The natural ski car: up to seven passengers, their cases and ski bags, with no sorting at the kerb.
Confirmed in writing before you book. Neither snow nor a late flight changes it.
Winter tyres and chains on board from November to March, in line with the French mountain law.
Your flight or train is tracked. If it arrives late, your chauffeur waits at no extra cost.
Night arrivals, first flights, Sundays and bank holidays. Booking is open around the clock.
About two hours from Lyon Saint-Exupéry airport on clear roads, for 170 kilometres. On a school holiday Saturday or after heavy snow, allow an extra thirty minutes to an hour, mostly between Sallanches and the village.
No. From Lyon the whole drive is on French motorways, with no customs and no Swiss vignette. Geneva is closer in kilometres, but Lyon is often simpler on February Saturdays when the Bardonnex border crossing is saturated.
Yes, as well as Perrache, the Saint-Exupéry TGV station or your Lyon hotel. Your chauffeur waits on the platform or in the hall with a name board.
A sedan takes a few cases and a pair of ski bags. For a family or a group we send a Mercedes V-Class, which carries up to seven passengers and their equipment.
Yes, to the exact address, including the hamlet roads of Mont d'Arbois and Rochebrune. If an access is residents only or closed by snow, we check it with you before the day.
Yes, and we time the departure around your flight and the day of the week. For an early afternoon flight on a February Saturday, we usually leave in the early morning.
Send us the date, your arrival time and the number of passengers. You receive the rate and your chauffeur's name before you confirm.
