Moving Around London During the Week

Venues are spread between the centre, the east and the south, often in converted industrial buildings, and rarely twice in the same place. Add the congestion charge, the ultra low emission zone, and streets where stopping is simply not allowed.

Five days at ten shows a day, then a departure for Milan on the 22nd for those doing the full season. A car that waits and a chauffeur who knows the drop-off points changes the day.

What a Show Day Actually Looks Like

A day on the London calendar is not a series of appointments so much as a chain, and the chain only holds if each link runs to time. A show scheduled for eleven rarely starts at eleven. Guests are asked to arrive thirty to forty minutes early, the room fills, and the collection itself lasts between eight and fifteen minutes. Add the departure crush and a show occupies well over an hour of a day that may hold four of them.
