Forty Five Kilometres
Is a Real Journey

Malpensa sits about forty five kilometres northwest of Milan, out towards the Ticino valley, and that distance is the single fact that shapes every transfer here. Reckon on fifty minutes to just over an hour by road, more when the A8 backs up towards Fiera or when the tangenziale seizes at the end of the afternoon. It is not an airport you leave in ten minutes, which is precisely why the arrangements before you land are worth getting right.

The airport carries 193 destinations across 82 countries with 85 airlines, and it runs around the clock. That combination means arrivals at hours when very little else in Lombardy is moving, and a chauffeur who is already there when a red eye lands from New York or the Gulf is not a luxury so much as the only sensible arrangement.

One piece of local trivia that saves confusion at the kerb. Since July 2024 the airport has officially been called Milano Malpensa Airport Silvio Berlusconi. Signage, tickets and booking systems still use both names more or less interchangeably, so if your itinerary shows one and the terminal shows the other, nothing has gone wrong.

Knowing which terminal

Two Terminals,
Two Different Arrivals

Malpensa has two passenger terminals and they are separate buildings with their own approach roads. Turning up at the wrong one costs a shuttle ride and a good twenty minutes, so the terminal goes on the booking, not the guesswork.

T1
The intercontinental terminal

Where almost everything long haul lands. Star Alliance, SkyTeam and oneworld carriers, the Gulf airlines, the North American and Asian routes. If you are arriving from outside Europe, you are almost certainly at T1.

Long haulMost airlines
T2
The easyJet terminal

Reopened in May 2023 and now given over to easyJet. A short hop from T1 by road but a genuinely separate building, with its own arrivals hall and its own kerb. Worth naming explicitly when you book.

Business aviation

Private aircraft use their own facility with a separate entrance. We coordinate with your handler or crew rather than waiting in a public hall, and meet you at the terminal door or planeside where the handler allows it.

How the transfer runs

Your Malpensa Transfer,
Step by Step

1
Your flight is tracked

From the moment it leaves its origin. The chauffeur is despatched against the actual landing time, not the printed one, which on a long haul arrival can differ by an hour.

2👤
Met inside arrivals

Name board in the arrivals hall of the correct terminal, or at the business aviation door. You do not look for the car, the chauffeur looks for you.

3🚗
The drive in

Fifty minutes to an hour and a quarter depending on the hour. Water, wifi and a quiet car, which after eleven hours in the air is usually what people want.

4🏠
To the door

Hotel, office, showroom or a villa on Como. The car is cleared for Milan's restricted zones, so the drop is at the address rather than at the edge of it.

Arriving into Milan by road

What the Train
Cannot Do for You

The Malpensa Express runs from Terminal 1 to Milano Centrale in about fifty one minutes, thirty four times a day, first departure at 5.25 and last at 23.25. It is a good train and we will say so plainly. What it does not do is carry four suitcases and a suit carrier up the steps at Centrale, wait while a meeting overruns, or take you to a house on Lake Como rather than to a station.

Milan also restricts its centre, and our vehicles are cleared for both schemes, which is why the car reaches the hotel door rather than stopping three streets short of it. We set the rules out in detail on the Linate transfer page, where they bite hardest, since almost every Linate arrival is heading straight into the centre.

Beyond Milan itself, Malpensa is a natural starting point for the lakes and the mountains. Como is under an hour, Stresa and Lake Maggiore closer still, and the road to Verbier or Zermatt runs north through the Simplon. Fiera Milano Rho, where the big trade fairs are held, sits roughly halfway between the airport and the city, which makes it an easy first stop rather than a detour.

The fleet

Vehicles for the
Malpensa Run

Mercedes E-Class
1 to 3 passengers

The default for a single traveller or a pair with normal luggage. Comfortable enough for an hour on the A8 without being ostentatious at the other end.

Mercedes S-Class
1 to 3 passengers

For the arrival that sets the tone, and for the long haul passenger who would rather sleep the last hour than endure it. On this route the difference is felt.

Mercedes V-Class
Up to 7 passengers

Families, crews and anyone arriving with sample cases during fashion week or the Salone. Room for people and for what they brought with them.

Why My Private Service

What You Can Count On
at Malpensa

No Charge for Flight Delays

Your aircraft is tracked from departure. On a long haul arrival the printed time means little, so the meeting time moves and the price does not.

The Right Terminal, Named

T1 or T2 goes on the booking. They are separate buildings with separate kerbs, and getting it wrong costs twenty minutes nobody wants to spend.

Cleared for Area B and Area C

The vehicle is compliant and registered, so the drop is at the address rather than at the boundary of the restricted zone.

Fixed Rate, Agreed First

No meter and no surcharge afterwards. On a forty five kilometre run that certainty is worth more than on a short hop.

Night and Early Arrivals

The airport runs around the clock and so do we. A four in the morning landing from the Gulf is met like any other.

Business Aviation Coordination

We deal directly with your handler or crew so the car and the aircraft arrive at the same point at the same time.

Questions

Malpensa Airport Transfer · FAQ

How long does the transfer from Malpensa to central Milan take?

Between fifty minutes and an hour and a quarter, depending on the hour and on the traffic around Fiera. Malpensa is about forty five kilometres from the city, so unlike Linate this is a genuine drive rather than a hop.

Which Malpensa terminal will my flight arrive at?

Terminal 1 handles the intercontinental and most European traffic. Terminal 2, reopened in May 2023, is given over to easyJet. They are separate buildings with their own approach roads, so we put the terminal on the booking rather than guess it.

Why is Malpensa sometimes called Silvio Berlusconi Airport?

Because that has been its official name since July 2024. Signage, tickets and booking systems still use both names, so an itinerary showing one and a terminal showing the other is perfectly normal.

Can you drive us into the restricted central zones of Milan?

Yes. Our vehicles are compliant with Area B and registered for Area C, the charged ring around the Duomo. Both operate Monday to Friday from half past seven in the morning to half past seven in the evening and lift on public holidays.

Do you meet passengers arriving by private jet at Malpensa?

Yes. Business aviation uses its own facility with a separate entrance. We coordinate with your handler or crew and meet you at the terminal door, or planeside where the handler permits it.

Can you take us from Malpensa to Lake Como or the Alps?

Regularly. Como is under an hour from the airport, Stresa and Lake Maggiore are closer still, and the road north through the Simplon reaches the Swiss resorts. Fiera Milano Rho sits roughly halfway in and makes an easy first stop.

What happens if my flight to Malpensa is delayed?

Your aircraft is tracked from departure and the chauffeur is despatched against the real landing time. Waiting caused by the airline is not charged.

Is the Malpensa transfer rate fixed before travel?

Always. The figure is confirmed in writing before booking and does not change afterwards. There is no meter in the car.
