Malpensa is around fifty kilometres north-west, Bergamo Orio al Serio about the same to the north-east, and Linate barely eight kilometres east of the centre. They are not variations on a journey, they are three different journeys. On top of that the city runs Area C, the paid zone inside the old walls, and Area B, the low emission zone covering most of the municipality, both on weekdays from half past seven in the morning to half past seven in the evening. Milan is a working city with a fashion and design calendar bolted on, and it shows in the traffic. Here is what a prepared arrival looks like.
- Linate is eight kilometres from the centre and Malpensa around fifty. Which one your flight uses changes the departure time by the best part of an hour, so it is confirmed before you land.
- Area C covers the historic centre inside the Cerchia dei Bastioni and Area B covers most of the city, both from half past seven to half past seven on weekdays and free at weekends. The charges and the compliance are part of what we quote, not an extra at the end.
- Fashion Week in February and September and Design Week in April fill the hotels and the roads at the same time, and the Rho fairground pulls traffic to the north-west. Those weeks are booked early.
- Bergamo Orio al Serio is often sold as a Milan airport and is around fifty kilometres away. If that is where you land, the transfer is planned as what it really is.
- Lake Como is about an hour from the centre and Lake Maggiore roughly the same, so a day at the lakes is one car and one driver rather than a train and a search at the other end.

Which Milan airport do you cover?
All three. Malpensa around fifty kilometres north-west, Linate barely eight kilometres east of the centre, and Bergamo Orio al Serio around fifty kilometres north-east. The meeting point is inside the terminal your flight uses.
How long is the transfer from Malpensa?
Around fifty minutes to the centre when the motorway is clear, and longer at the start and end of the working day or during fair weeks. From Linate it is a short run, usually well under half an hour.
Are Area B and Area C charges included?
Yes. Area C covers the historic centre and Area B most of the city, both on weekdays from half past seven in the morning to half past seven in the evening. The charge and the vehicle compliance are built into the rate we quote.
Can you take us to Lake Como or Lake Maggiore?
Yes, each is around an hour from the centre. A day at the lakes works better as one car and one chauffeur than as a train with transport to find at the other end.
What happens during Fashion Week and Design Week?
February, September and April fill the city at once, hotels and roads together. We work those weeks every year and set the departures around them rather than around an average day.
Is the rate fixed before I travel?
Always, in writing, before anything is confirmed. There is no meter in the car and the amount does not change for traffic, for the traffic zones or for waiting at the airport.
