Alfama and the Bairro Alto are mediaeval and steep, Belém is out along the river, Sintra is up in the hills and Cascais is thirty minutes west along the coast. The distances are modest and the gradients are not, which is why the car is worth keeping between the stops rather than only for the arrival.

What is the minimum booking?
Four hours. For a single airport run the point to point transfer is better value and we will say so.
Can the car get into Alfama?
Only to its edges. The streets inside are narrower than a car and often stepped. The usual arrangement is to be dropped at the top and collected at the bottom.
Is Sintra worth a full day?
It works either way. Half a day covers the Pena Palace and the Quinta da Regaleira if you start early; a full day adds Cabo da Roca and Cascais on the way back.
Are stops limited?
No, not inside the area agreed at booking. The schedule moves with you.
Can you collect from a cruise terminal?
Yes, both the Santa Apolónia and the Alcântara quays, with the timing set against your embarkation or arrival.
Which vehicles are available?
Mercedes E-Class and S-Class for one to three passengers, V-Class for groups and luggage.
