Private Driver
in Geneva
Geneva is small enough to cross in twenty minutes and complicated enough to lose an afternoon in. A private driver handles the border, the vignette, the lake road and the parking, and leaves you with the only part that matters, which is being where you said you would be.
My Private Service provides a chauffeur service in Geneva, private car services in Geneva covering airport transfers GVA, Lyon and Annecy. Our business chauffeur in Geneva and corporate chauffeur in Geneva teams offer executive car hire and VIP transportation available 24/7. Also available as a luxury chauffeur service near me for international clients across the Lake Geneva region.
A small city
with a border through it
The airport has a French sector reachable through the Pays de Gex without entering Switzerland, the motorway needs an annual vignette rather than a day pass, and the lake road to Lausanne behaves differently depending on the season. None of that is difficult, all of it takes time you would rather spend elsewhere.
One booking across two countries
An hourly booking in Geneva is not a series of transfers sold together. The car stays with you, the border is crossed without a discussion, and the next leg starts when you walk out.
- From four hours, with the same chauffeur from the first pickup to the last drop off
- Swiss vignette and French side access already handled, including the airport's French sector
- Unlimited stops inside the agreed area, so a change of plan mid-afternoon costs nothing
- Discretion as standard, which for the banking and institutional addresses here is the point
- Winter tyres fitted from November for the mountain runs out of the city

A small city.
With a border running through the afternoon.
Geneva is compact enough to walk, which is exactly why the hourly booking is used differently here than in a capital. Clients rarely keep a car for the city itself. They keep it because the day starts at a bank on the Rue du Rhone, continues at a meeting in Vernier, and ends with dinner on the French shore of the lake. The border sits in the middle of that sentence and a driver who crosses it several times a week treats it as a formality rather than an event.
The practical details are the ones that catch people out. Swiss motorways require an annual vignette and our cars carry it. Crossing into France and back again during the same day is ordinary, but the choice of crossing point is not, and at the end of the working day it decides whether you sit for twenty minutes or drive through. The airport has a French sector as well as a Swiss one, which is useful on the way out and confusing on the way in unless someone has checked which side your flight leaves from.
The mountains are the other reason the car stays. Chamonix is an easy run under the Mont Blanc side of the lake, Megeve and Annecy make a long and very pleasant day, and in winter the transfers to Courchevel, Verbier and Val d Isere all begin here. A day booking that starts with a morning meeting and ends at a chalet door is a normal shape of request in this office.
Discretion is not a slogan in Geneva, it is the working condition. Vehicles are unmarked, chauffeurs do not discuss one client with another, and for the banking and institutional work that fills our weeks the driver is briefed on the entrance to use, where to wait and what not to say to the person who asks. Where a security detail travels with the principal, our chauffeurs are used to working alongside them.
The distances explain why the car stays. Geneva airport is barely five kilometres from the centre, so the transfer itself is nothing. What fills the day is everything around it: Lausanne is about sixty kilometres along the lake, Montreux ninety, Annecy around fifty over the border, Chamonix roughly eighty through the valley, Megeve a little further, and Courchevel and Val d Isere are both long enough that the departure time matters more than the route.
What is the minimum booking?
Four hours. For a single airport run the point to point transfer is better value, and we will say so.
Can you pick up on the French side of the airport?
Yes. The French sector is reachable through the Pays de Gex without entering Switzerland, which for a client continuing into France saves the border entirely.
Is the Swiss motorway vignette included?
Yes. Switzerland sells an annual vignette rather than a day pass, and ours is already on the car. It is in the rate, not added afterwards.
Are stops limited?
No, not inside the area agreed when you book. The schedule moves with you and there is no charge per stop.
Can you run into France or Italy the same day?
Yes. Chamonix, Annecy and Lyon are routine, and the Aosta valley through the Mont Blanc tunnel is possible with notice.
Which vehicles are available?
Mercedes E-Class and S-Class for one to three passengers, V-Class for groups and luggage. All are fitted for snow from November.
Can the car cross into France during the day?
Yes, and it happens constantly. Yvoire, Evian, Annecy, Chamonix and Megeve are all within a comfortable day. The booking simply continues across the border with no separate arrangement.
Do your vehicles carry the Swiss motorway vignette?
Yes, all of them, renewed every year. It is never something you are asked to think about or pay for separately.
Can you handle a ski transfer at the end of a working day?
Yes. Courchevel, Verbier, Val d Isere, Megeve and Zermatt are regular runs from Geneva. Tell us the resort and the chalet address when you book so we can plan the timing around the weather and the road conditions.
Which airport terminal do you use?
Both. Geneva airport has a Swiss sector and a French sector, and we confirm which one applies to your flight before the day rather than at the barrier.
Are the chauffeurs discreet about who they carry?
That is the baseline of the job here. Nothing about a client is discussed with anyone, vehicles carry no branding, and chauffeurs who work with protection teams are briefed by them directly.
Which vehicle suits a day in and around Geneva?
An E-Class for one or two passengers, an S-Class when the car is also a quiet office between meetings, and a V-Class for a family, for ski equipment, or for a group going up to a chalet. Winter cars are on proper tyres from November.
Can the booking be extended on the day?
Usually, if the chauffeur has nothing after you. Ask earlier in the day rather than at the last stop and we will either extend the same car or arrange a clean handover.
How is the booking settled?
The rate is agreed before the day and invoiced afterwards, in Swiss francs or euros, by card or transfer. Nothing is handled in the car.
