A Geneva Airport Transfer
Built Around Your Flight

Geneva Airport sits closer to its city than almost any other in Europe. Eight minutes separate the terminal from the Rue du Rhône, and that proximity shapes everything about how a transfer here should work. There is no long motorway run to absorb a delay, so the margin has to be built before you land rather than after.

Your chauffeur tracks the inbound flight from departure. If you arrive early the car is already in position, and if the aircraft holds over the Jura the meeting time moves with it. Waiting time linked to a flight delay is never charged, because a delay is not something you chose.

We work daily with private banking clients, watch industry executives, families heading up to the resorts and travellers connecting from the business aviation terminal. The service is the same for each of them, a chauffeur who knows the airport, a Mercedes prepared before departure, and a rate agreed before anyone gets in the car.

The two sides of Cointrin

Swiss Sector, French Sector
and Business Aviation

Geneva is the only major airport in Europe with a customs border running through it. Knowing which side you will walk out of changes where your chauffeur waits, and getting it wrong costs you twenty minutes.

CH
Swiss Sector

The main arrivals hall, used by the overwhelming majority of flights. Your chauffeur meets you in the public arrivals area with a discreet name board. This is the side you want for Geneva itself, Lausanne, Montreux and the Valais resorts.

French Sector

A separate exit that puts you directly onto French soil without passing Swiss customs. It is the sensible choice when your destination is Chamonix, Megeve, Annecy or the Tarentaise, and it removes a border crossing from the journey entirely. It must be requested in advance, both by you at check-in and by us when we position the car.

Business Aviation

Geneva handles one of the densest private aviation calendars in Europe, and the general aviation terminal has its own entrance away from the main building. Your chauffeur meets the aircraft at the agreed stand or at the terminal door, coordinated directly with your handler or flight crew.

How it works

Your Geneva Transfer,
Step by Step

01
Send Us the Flight

Your flight number, the sector you will exit through and your destination. We confirm the vehicle and the fixed rate in writing, usually within two hours.

02
We Watch the Aircraft

Monitoring starts at departure, not on landing. An early arrival finds the car already there, a delay simply moves the meeting time. Neither costs you anything extra.

03
Met in Arrivals

Your chauffeur waits inside with a name board, on the Swiss or the French side as arranged, and takes the luggage from there. No car park to find, no telephone call to make.

04
On the Road

Eight minutes to the city, or a mountain road if you are heading higher. Wi-Fi, water and a chauffeur who will hold a conversation or leave you to work, as you prefer.

Winter in the Alps

Geneva Airport to
the Ski Resorts

More than a third of our Geneva work between December and April is a resort transfer, and the mountain leg deserves more attention than the airport one. Swiss and French law both require winter equipment on the approach roads in the cold months, and the last climb to Verbier or Val d Isere is where an ordinary car and a properly prepared one stop being comparable.

Our vehicles run winter tyres from November, carry chains, and the chauffeurs assigned to Alpine transfers drive these roads all season. On a Saturday in February, when the whole valley is changing over at once, that experience is the difference between arriving for dinner and arriving for breakfast.

Journey times are given for normal conditions and are indicative. Saturdays in high season, and the hours after heavy snowfall, run longer, and we plan your departure with that in mind rather than discovering it on the day.

Questions

Geneva Airport Transfer · FAQ

How long does the transfer from Geneva Airport to the city centre take?

Around eight to fifteen minutes depending on the hour. Geneva Airport is unusually close to its city, so the journey is short even at the end of the afternoon. The part worth planning is the walk out of the terminal, not the drive.

Should I arrive through the Swiss sector or the French sector?

If you are staying in Geneva, on the Swiss Riviera or heading to the Valais, use the Swiss sector. If your destination is Chamonix, Megeve, Annecy or the French Alps, the French sector puts you on French soil without a border crossing. Tell us which one when you book, because the chauffeur waits on one side or the other, not both.

Do you meet passengers arriving by private jet?

Yes. Geneva has one of the busiest business aviation terminals in Europe and it has its own entrance. We coordinate with your handler or your crew and meet you at the terminal door or at the stand, depending on what the handler allows that day.

What happens if my flight is delayed?

Nothing that costs you money. Your flight is tracked from departure, the chauffeur adjusts, and waiting time caused by the airline is not charged. We would rather absorb an hour than hand you a surprise at the end of a long journey.

Can you take us to a ski resort on arrival?

That is a large part of what we do here in winter. Chamonix is around an hour, Verbier under two, Courchevel around two and a half. The vehicles carry winter tyres from November and chains all season, and we build extra time into Saturday transfers because the whole valley changes over on the same day.

Is the rate fixed before I travel?

Always. You receive the price in writing before anything is confirmed, and it does not change afterwards. There is no meter in the car and no distinction between a quiet Tuesday and a Saturday in February.

Do you cover departures as well as arrivals?

Yes, in both directions, and for onward legs across the region. Lausanne, Montreux, Annecy, Evian and the resorts are all regular runs, as are transfers on to Zurich or Lyon when the flight schedule makes that easier.
