Close to the city, if you know the way
Miami airport transfers are short by big-city standards. Miami International sits about 9.7 km from downtown, and the drive usually takes 15 to 20 minutes. Your chauffeur tracks the flight and is waiting when you come through.
The airport itself is large, though. Three terminals, North, Central and South, spread across Concourses D to J, and most long-haul international flights outside oneworld use Concourse J. Knowing where you will exit lets us place your driver correctly.
Many travellers also fly into Fort Lauderdale, about 34 km north, or land privately at Miami-Opa Locka Executive. We cover all three airports with the same standard of service.

Meet and greet at Miami International
Your chauffeur waits in arrivals with your name and helps with your bags. You can walk past the terminal solicitors, whom the airport itself advises travellers to ignore.
Fort Lauderdale pick-ups
FLL has four terminals, with international flights at Terminal 4. Spirit, once its main airline, stopped flying in May 2026, and a Terminal 5 is being built, so we confirm your terminal when you book.
Private jets at Opa-locka
Miami-Opa Locka Executive is a general aviation airport about 18 km north of downtown. We meet guests at Fontainebleau Aviation, Jet Aviation or Signature, and at the JSX base too.
Families and heavy luggage
A V-Class carries up to seven passengers and a week's worth of suitcases. Ask for child seats in advance and they are fitted before pick-up.
Miami International, Fort Lauderdale and Opa-locka
Three airports serve the Miami area, and each suits a different kind of trip. Official airport information: Miami International Airport.
North Terminal holds Concourse D, used only by American. Central Terminal has Concourses E, F and G, and South Terminal has H and J. The MIA Mover runs to the Miami Intermodal Center for Metrorail and Tri-Rail.
About 34 km north of Miami, bordered by I-95 and I-595. Unusually, US 1 runs under a runway to reach the terminals. Shuttles connect to the Tri-Rail and Brightline stations.
Mostly general aviation, with FBOs run by Fontainebleau Aviation, Jet Aviation and Signature. It took its current name in 2014.

A tip for December: during Art Basel Miami Beach, traffic over the causeways is heavy and cars are in demand. Book early and allow extra time for the drive to the beach.

How far is Miami International from downtown?
About 9.7 km. Outside rush hour, the drive takes 15 to 20 minutes via the Dolphin Expressway (SR 836), or SR 112 and then I-95.
Where does the driver meet me at MIA?
Inside arrivals, with a sign showing your name. Ride-hailing cars use signed door numbers on levels 1 and 2, but your chauffeur comes to find you in person.
Should I fly into Fort Lauderdale instead?
It can make sense if you are staying north of Miami. FLL is about 34 km from the city, and the drive time depends on traffic on I-95.
Is Fort Lauderdale affected by Spirit's shutdown?
Spirit, formerly the airport's main airline, ceased operations in May 2026. Other airlines still fly from Terminals 1 to 4, so send us your flight and we confirm the terminal.
