Taxi Alternative
in Courchevel
Courchevel is reached by a mountain road that does not care about your transfer booking. From Geneva it is a long climb through the Tarentaise, and in January the last forty minutes are the ones that decide whether you arrive relaxed or three hours late.
My Private Service provides a private chauffeur service in Courchevel, airport transfers from Geneva GVA, Lyon LYS and Chambéry CMF, executive car hire and VIP transportation available 24/7 across Courchevel and the French Alps.
The resort is easy.
The road to it is the job.
Courchevel 1850 sits at the top of a valley served by one road, shared in high season with coaches, delivery trucks and everyone else's transfer. Geneva, Lyon and Chambéry all feed into it, and the right choice on a Saturday in February is not the same as on a Tuesday in December.
Winter tyres, local knowledge, one price
Every operator will quote you a transfer. What separates them in the Alps is what happens when the road is bad and the flight is late, which in January is most weekends.
- Winter tyres fitted from November and chains carried, with chauffeurs used to the Tarentaise rather than to a motorway
- Saturday transfer day treated as its own problem, with departure times set against the resort changeover
- Flight tracked from Geneva, Lyon or Chambéry, with no waiting surcharge when the weather delays you
- Ski and boot luggage accounted for at booking, so the vehicle actually fits what you are carrying
- Chalet drop-off arranged where the address allows it, and coordinated with the chalet staff where it does not
Courchevel and the Three Valleys
The most common arrival, with French and Swiss sector pickups handled either way.
Arrivals on the altiport, weather permitting, with the transfer timed to the actual landing.
1850, Moriond, Village and Le Praz, each with its own access and parking reality.
The rest of the Three Valleys, for the days when the group is split between resorts.
The valley railhead, used by clients arriving on the ski train from Paris or London.
The alternative airports, often the better answer when Geneva is saturated.
How long does the Geneva transfer actually take?
In good conditions it is comfortably under three hours. On a Saturday in high season with snow on the Tarentaise it can be considerably more, which is why we set the departure against your resort time rather than against a map estimate.
Are the cars equipped for snow?
Yes. Winter tyres from November and chains carried through the season. The chauffeurs who run this route do it regularly rather than occasionally.
Can you carry skis and boots?
Yes, but tell us at booking. Six people with six ski bags is a different vehicle from six people with cabin luggage, and we would rather know in advance than improvise at the airport.
What if my flight into Geneva is delayed?
It is tracked, the chauffeur adjusts and there is no waiting charge. In winter this happens often enough that it is worth choosing an operator who does not release your car after a fixed window.
Do you serve the altiport?
Yes. If you arrive by light aircraft at Courchevel the transfer is timed on the actual landing, with the usual caveat that altiport operations depend entirely on the weather.
Can we keep a car and chauffeur during the stay?
Yes. Evenings between 1850 and Le Praz, dinners in Méribel, a day trip down the valley. The hourly and daily formats both apply in resort.
