Taxi Alternative
in Monaco
Monaco has no airport. You arrive through Nice, around thirty kilometres west, by road or by the seven minute helicopter link into the heliport at Fontvieille. Either way, a booked car is what turns an arrival into a straightforward one.
My Private Service provides a private chauffeur service in Monaco, airport transfers Nice NCE, executive car hire, F1 Grand Prix transfers and VIP transportation available 24/7 across Monaco and the French Riviera.
Why arriving in Monaco
needs planning
The Principality covers barely two square kilometres and has no airport of its own. Everything comes through Nice, thirty kilometres along the coast, either by road or by the helicopter shuttle that crosses in about seven minutes. Inside Monaco the streets are narrow, the parking is underground and for several weeks each spring the main ones become a race circuit. None of that is a problem when the car and the timing are agreed in advance.
Five things that change
in the Principality
Monaco is small, vertical and busy, and it closes its own streets once a year. Here is what a prepared arrival looks like on this two kilometres of coast.
- There is no airport in Monaco, so the driver meets you at Nice Côte d’Azur, inside the terminal you land in, and the run down is around thirty minutes when the road is clear.
- If you take the helicopter, the heliport sits in Fontvieille beside the Stade Louis II and the Princess Grace Rose Garden, and the car is waiting there rather than somewhere you have to reach on foot.
- The road from Nice can be the motorway or one of the three corniches, and they do not behave the same way at the same hours. The route is chosen on the day, not from a map.
- Grand Prix week turns Casino Square, the tunnel and the port into a circuit, and the closures start well before the cars do. We work it every year and tell you plainly which addresses stay reachable and when.
- Monaco parks underground and drops off at the door. A chauffeur on standby means you are set down at the entrance and collected at the same place, which in a town built on terraces is not a small thing.

Does Monaco have an airport?
No. The nearest is Nice Côte d’Azur, around thirty kilometres west. You reach the Principality from there by road or by the helicopter link into the heliport at Fontvieille.
How long does the drive from Nice airport to Monaco take?
Around thirty minutes when the motorway is clear. On summer afternoons, and during Grand Prix week, considerably longer, so the departure is set around the hour rather than an average.
How long is the helicopter transfer from Nice?
About seven minutes into the Fontvieille heliport, with frequent daily rotations. We meet you on arrival there so the last part of the journey is not left to chance.
What happens during Grand Prix week?
The circuit is made of public roads, so Casino Square, the tunnel and the port close progressively in the weeks before the race. Some addresses become unreachable by car at certain hours, and we say so in advance instead of improvising.
Can you take us from Monaco to Nice, Cannes or Saint-Tropez?
Yes. Nice is around thirty minutes, Cannes around an hour, Saint-Tropez around two depending on the season. The same chauffeur can stay with you for the whole day.
Is the rate fixed before I travel?
Always, in writing, before anything is confirmed. There is no meter in the car and the amount does not change for traffic or for race week.
